Each environment configuration has a killSwitch boolean, next to enabled and the fallback. Set it in the draft, then publish. Connected SDKs observe the new configurationVersion through server-sent events (browser) or the next evaluate-all (Node).
A kill switch is a boolean on that environment's flag configuration. It is not a separate flag. You still publish the change yourself.
Browser clients also poll /api/v1/runtime/meta when SSE is down, and refetch when the version changes. A client that is offline keeps the last cached snapshot for that targeting key until it can refresh.
