| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| Organization | The account boundary. Members and invitations live here. |
| Project | A product inside an organization. Flags and environments belong to a project. |
| Environment | An isolated configuration, such as development or production. SDK keys are issued per environment. |
| Feature flag | A key with a type (BOOLEAN, STRING, NUMBER, CONFIG) and a published value per environment. |
| Targeting key | The stable id used for rollouts and overrides. The SDK sends the identified user id when one exists. |
| Segment | A named predicate reused by rules. |
| Event | A track or exposure record with a client-generated eventId. |
| Configuration version | An integer that increases when an environment snapshot is published. SDKs watch it. |
Evaluation of rules happens on the server. The browser and Node SDKs cache the result. They do not re-run the rule tree offline.
